Join Emily & Jim your local wild food experts on this most beautiful spring time walk, alongside the river where you will learn about the wild food which surrounds us.
Sharpen your senses by looking, touching, smelling and tasting the wonderful wild edible plants. Learn how to identify each plant with their individual features and enhance your cooking with their unique flavours.
On this particular walk we will be focusing more on Wild Garlic, it’s poisonous lookalikes, how to enjoy and preserve this magnificent ingredient along with a wonderful variety of edible spring greens.
You will be given a leaflet I have made about wild garlic, how to distinguish it from is lookalikes and some recipes for you to try.
We will finish our walk by listening to some folklore on wild garlic and sampling some delicious goodies!
The walk will last roughly 2.5 - 3 hours.

Join Emily for this exciting opportunity to learn all about crafting your own fermented wild foods & Drink.
In the morning we will forage for our seasonal wild ingredients and enjoy some Wild Garlic themed goodies in the woods, before heading back to the workshop to create some fermentations for you to take home and enjoy.
We'll explore how to ferment our wild food by making a Lacto-Fermented Wild Garlic Kimchi whilst discussing the benefits of fermenting for gut health.
Lastly we shall look at how to work with wild yeasts and together we will make Juniper Berry Sourdough starter.

Join us for a guided foraging walk in Surrey or Sussex where you will learn all about the wild food that surrounds us.
Using your senses, you will identify, smell and taste plants as you learn all about their ID features and culinary uses.

Join Jim and Emily in the Autumn months to learn how mushrooms play a key role in keeping the forest alive. What mushrooms are deadly and which ones are safe to eat. Jim is an expert on all things in the mycology field and Emily specialises in edible, poisonous and medicinal mushrooms and will both be on hand and full of suggestions for culinary uses of the edible mushrooms we find. We will also explain the benefits and how to process any medicinal mushrooms we may come across.
